Apple Today - 7/01/2016 OPEX 4th (AAPL)

Good Morning,

NASDAQ Futures are flat with -2 Fair Value, S&P Futures are down 1 with -1 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 3 as we welcome July with Independence Day on Monday. The markets are closed for July 4th. Futures were lower in early morning and took a dive at 3am, bottoming at 3:46am and bouncing sharply after 6am and are near the highs as we await the open.

Asian markets ended up. China went up 0.10%, Hong Kong gained 1.75% and Japan increased 0.68%. European markets are up. The UK is up 1.07%, Germany is up 0.86% and France is leading the advance, up 1.17%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is down 3.21%, natural gas is up 0.48% and gold is up 1.17%. Unleaded gas is down 1.25% and heating oil is down 0.25%. Metals are up except copper. Meat is mostly up. Coffee, cocoa and cotton are up while corn wheat and soybeans are down.

China stocks post biggest weekly gain in a month after PMI data.

Micron Technology Inc. (MU) reported a Q3 earnings loss and job cuts this morning and is down over 9% in pre-market.

AAPL ticked up higher on Thursday, gaining 1.27% on lower than average volume. AAPL opened up at 94.46 to high volume and quickly set an intra-day low of 94.30 on moderately heavy volume before ticking up towards 95 on moderate volume. AAPL captured 95 shortly after 11 and made it into the mid-95 area in early afternoon on lower volume. AAPL went on to set a high of 95.77 at 3:26pm on mild volume before settling slightly into the close. AAPL ended the day up 1.20 at 95.60 and dropped 20 cents in after-hours to 95.40.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened lower in conjunction with Futures, first dipping to the low-95 area before bouncing back to mid-95 after 7am. AAPL is currently down 5 cents at 95.55 as we approach the open.
