Apple Today - 9/19/2016 (AAPL)

seymour_greenz • September 19th 2016 09:37:17 AM

Good Morning,

Welcome back. NASDAQ Futures are curiously up 17 with +19 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 10 with +11 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 88 as we put the pieces of multiple potential terrorist attacks on Manhattan and Minnesota and more explosive devices turning up in New Jersey. These nerve racking events bookend a Monday with quiet economic calendar and sparse earnings though the pace will certainly pick up as we approach the Fed meeting later this week. Futures were up in early morning and lifted to a peak just before 5:30am then dipped and bounced at 7am and are near the highs as we approach the open.

Asian markets were up. China went up 0.77%, Japan gained 0.70% and Hong Kong led the advance, up 0.92%. European markets are mixed. The UK is up 1.11%, Germany is down 0.65% and France is up 0.52%.

Commodities are mostly up this morning. Oil is up 1.42%, natural gas is down 1.90% and gold is up 0.56%. Unleaded gas is down 0.28% and heating oil is up 1.07%. Metals are up except copper. Meat is up strong. Cocoa, coffee, cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are all up.

Oil rebound hauls up global stocks, commodity currencies.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Ascena Retail Group Inc (ASNA).

Tomorrow morning before the open, Lennar Corporation (LEN), Palatin Technologies, Inc (PTN) are expected to report.
