Good Morning,

Welcome back. NASDAQ Futures are up 19 with +20 Fair Value, S&P Futures are up 9 with +8 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 66 as we celebrate Columbus and kick off the 2nd trading week of October after the 2nd presidential debate last night. Since it's somewhat of a semi-holiday, the economic calendar is extremely light and the earnings calendar is still asleep until tomorrow. Futures were up in early morning, marching up further after 7am and are at the highs as we approach the open.

Asian markets ended mixed. China gained 1.45% after being closed for a week, Hong Kong dropped 0.42% and Japan went down 0.23%. European markets are up. The UK is up 0.40%, France is up 0.57% and Germany is leading the advance, up 0.88%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 1.04%, natural gas is down 0.91% and gold is up 0.90%. Unleaded gas is up 0.26% and heating oil is up 0.96%. Metals are up except platinum. Meats are mostly down. Coffee, cotton, corn and wheat are up while cocoa and soybeans are down.

Mexican peso rises after Trump-Clinton debate, pound vulnerable again.

Tomorrow morning before the open, Alcoa Inc (AA), Bank of The Ozarks Inc (OZRK) and Fastenal Co (FAST) are expected to report.

AAPL had a relatively strong week, ending up 0.89% on low volume. On Monday, AAPL got a little blemished, dipping below 112.5 and losing 0.47% on paltry volume. On Tuesday, AAPL swished up through 114 and then bounced in the mid-112 area, ending up 0.43% on low volume. On Wednesday, AAPL ticked along the 113-line, biding some time and ending up just 0.04% on emaciated volume. On Thursday, AAPL showed some life, pulsing above 114 and up 0.74% on lower than average volume. On OPEX Friday, AAPL opened up at 114.43 to high volume and quickly tagged the mid-114 area, setting an intra-day high of 114.40 at 9:40am on heavy volume before suddenly dipping into the upper-113 area 10 minutes later on strong volume and temporarily stabilizing around 114 on low volume. Before lunch, however, AAPL dipped into the red to an intra-day low of 113.53 at 11:47am on high volume. AAPL subsequently bounced on mild volume and turned green after lunch. AAPL moved up after 1:30pm on low volume, recovered 114 shortly after and pushed up towards 114.25 later in the afternoon, selling off towards 114 into the close. AAPL ended the day up 17 cents at 114.06 and dropped 13 cents in after-hours to 113.93.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened up in conjunction with Futures and kept running up from the low-114 area all the way up to a pre-market high of 115.55 at 9:18am, perhaps on continued troubles with Samsung Note 7. AAPL is currently up 1.14 at 115.20 as we approach the open.

Classic max-pain is 111. Happy Columbus Day.
