S&P Futures are up 2 with +2 Fair Value, NASDAQ Futures are up 3 with +1 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 7 as we shake off a nasty left hook from the market yesterday. Sprint confirms it will "create or bring back to America" 5,000 jobs, mostly in customer care and sales. Toshiba (TOSYY) stock dropped again in Tokyo trading, this time another 17%. On the other hand, auto parts maker Takata (TKTDY) popped up 16.5% on news that the company is close to settling with the US Department of Justice over its deadly airbags.
Today's economic calendar is action-packed with Initial Jobless Claims, International trade in goods, Consumer Comfort Index, Natural Gas Inventory, Petroleum Inventories this morning and Farm Prices, the Fed Balance Sheet and Money Supply following this afternoon.
Futures were up in early morning, took a brief dip into the red at 3am, bouncing back later in the morning and are setting new highs as we approach the open.
Asian markets ended mostly down. China dropped 0.20%, Hong Kong went up 0.17% and Japan went dropped 1.32%. European markets are down a bit. The UK is down 0.10%, France is down 0.15% and Germany is leading the decline, down 0.23%.
Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is down 0.24%, natural gas is down 0.87% and gold is up 0.54%. Unleaded gas is up 1.47% and heating oil is up 0.58%. Metals are up. Meats are up. Coffee, cotton, corn, wheat and soybeans are up while cocoa is down.

AAPL spiked to 118 then faced the sharks yesterday, ultimately dropping 0.43% on guppy-sized volume. AAPL opened up at 117.52 to high volume and then quickly popped up above 118 to set an intra-day high of 118.02 at 9:34am on relatively high volume. AAPL then began a slide underwater to 117 on moderate volume, scraping the upper-116 area at 10:54am on mild volume before bouncing back to tag green before lunchtime. AAPL continued to weaken through lunchtime and lurked around in a narrow range in the upper-116 area in early afternoon on negligible volume. AAPL dunked to a low of 116.20 at 3:42pm on mild volume before bouncing slightly into the close on low volume. AAPL ended the day down 50 cents at 116.76 and lost another 11 cents in after-hours to 116.65.
This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened higher in conjunction with Futures and dipped to the mid-116 area before bouncing back to the upper-116 area as news Indian officials will meet early next week to evaluate Apple's incentives to manufacture in India. AAPL is currently down 16 cents at 116.60 as we approach the open.
