Good Morning,

S&P Futures are down 2 with -3 Fair Value, NASDAQ Futures are down 4 with -1 Fair Value and Dow Futures are down 21 on this tremendous Thursday as shares of Netflix (NFLX) are up by nearly 7% in pre-market after the company reported a surge in subscriber growth. On the other hand, two Japanese firms are heading the other direction. Airbag maker Takata (TKTDY) dropped 17% on news that will see the company in court regarding the restructuring process while Toshiba (TOSYY) shares dropped 16% on reports that losses from its nuclear construction business could exceed the "several billion US dollars" it warned about last month.

This morning's busy economic calendar includes: Housing Starts, Initial Jobless Claims, Philly Fed Business Outlook, Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index, Fed's Williams Speech, EIA Natural Gas Inventory and EIA Petroleum Inventories followed by Fed Balance Sheet and Money Supply this afternoon and topped off with a speech from Janet Yellen this evening.

The big earnings winner is Netflix, Inc. (NFLX), up nearly 7% in pre-market.

Futures were down slightly in early morning, poked into positive territory just before 1:30am and then dipped sharply, scraping lows shortly before 5:15am before bouncing back and are near the highs as we approach the open.

Asian markets ended mixed. China dropp­­ed 0.38%, Hong Kong went down 0.21% and Japan gained 0.94%. European markets are mostly down. The UK is down 0.39%, Germany is up 0.14% and France is down 0.07%.

Commodities are mixed this morning. Oil is up 0.98%, natural gas is down 0.55% and gold is down 0.59%. Unleaded gas is up 0.10% and heating oil is up 1.14%. Metals are down. Meats are mostly down. Coffee and cotton are up while cocoa, corn, wheat and soybeans are down.

US housing starts surge in December, jobless claims near 43-year low. ECB maintains stimulus, tells critics to be patient. Netflix adds 33% more subscribers than expected, shares jump 8%.

Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) reported Q4 results yesterday afternoon that beat expectations, notably on subscriber growth and is up nearly 7% in pre-market. Kinder Morgan, Inc. (KMI) announced Q4 results with mixed results and is down over 2%.

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (BK) reported Q4 results this morning with earnings of 77 cents per share that missed expectations and is up over 2.5% in pre-market. KeyCorp (KEY) is up nearly 0.5% after beating Q4 estimates with earnings of 19 cents per share. Union Pacific Corporation (UNP) announced Q4 results with a rise in profits and is up nearly 4%.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), American Express Company (AXP), People's United Financial, Inc. (PBCT) and Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (SWKS).

Tomorrow morning before the open, Regions Financial Corporation (RF), Citizens Financial Group (CFG), General Electric Company (GE), SunTrust Banks, Inc. (STI) and Synchrony Financial (SYF) are expected to report.

A leading bearish IBM swing trade strategy is: When the 20 DEMA is Above the 59 DEMA AND the 38 Day Stochastics is Bullish, daily bars.

AAPL bounced up and down on the 120 trampoline yesterday, ending down 01% on low volume. AAPL opened at 120 to high volume and immediately popped up to set an intra-day high of 120.5 on heavy volume before slipping down sharply below 120 to set an intra-day low of 119.72 at 10:10am on relatively strong volume. AAPL quickly bounced back to the 120-line and remained in a narrow range from late morning through lunchtime and well into the afternoon on low volume before bouncing back up above 120 after 3pm on low volume and then selling off back towards 120 into the close. AAPL ended the day up down 1 cent at 119.99 and dropped 1 more cent in after-hours to 119.98.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL picked up with yesterday's close and popped to a pre-market high of 120.29 before selling off sharply to below 120 and scraping a pre-market low of 119 on a downgrade to negative from OTR Global.12 later in the morning. AAPL is currently down 52 cents at 119.47 as we approach the open.

Classic max-pain is 110.
