Good Morning,

S&P Futures are down 1 with -1 Fair Value, NASDAQ Futures are up 8 with +6 Fair Value and Dow Futures are up 8 on this action-packed Thursday with a full economic calendar and strong earnings lineup. The Dow broke above 20k for the first time yesterday just as earnings season kicks into overdrive. In deals news, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) announced it's paying $29.3 billion to buy the Swiss biopharmaceutical firm Actelion (ALIOY). Overseas, data shows UK 4th quarter GDP grew by 0.6% over the 3rd quarter, matching growth recorded in the previous two quarters.

Today's monster economic calendar starts with: Initial Jobless Claims, International trade in goods, Chicago Fed National Activity Index, Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index, PMI Services Index Flash, New Home Sales, Leading Indicators, EIA Natural Gas Inventory and Kansas City Fed Mfg Survey, all this morning, followed by Results of $28B, 7-Year Note Auction this afternoon and Fed Balance Sheet and Money Supply after the bell.

The earnings winners were eBay Inc. (EBAY), up nearly 7% and Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV), up nearly 4.5%. On the other hand, Raytheon Company (RTN) is down nearly 4.5%, Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (POT) is down over 4.5%, Unilever Plc (UL) is down nearly 5% and Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) is down nearly 4%.

Futures were up strong in early morning and reached a peak around 1:30am before slipping down continuously through the rest of the morning, dipping into negative after 8am and are near the lows as we approach the open.

Asian markets ended up. China went up 0.31%, Hong Kong gained 1.41% and Japan led the advance, up 1.81%. European markets are mixed. The UK is up 0.17%, Germany is up 0.34% and France is down 0.01%.

Commodities are mixed morning. Oil is down 0.19%, natural gas is up 3.78% and gold is down 0.95%. Unleaded gas is down 0.26% and heating oil is up 0.60%. Metals are down. Meats are mixed. Cotton and wheat are up while cocoa, corn and soybeans are down. Coffee is flat.

AT&T Inc. (T) reported Q4 results yesterday afternoon that missed expectations and is down nearly 0.5% in pre-market. eBay Inc. (EBAY) announced Q4 results with adjusted earnings of 54 cents per share that met expectations and is up nearly 7%. Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) is down nearly 4% after reporting mixed Q1 results. Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) reported Q4 results with adjusted earnings of 62 cents per share that missed expectations and is down nearly 4%. Citrix Systems, Inc. (CTXS) is down nearly 4% after announcing Q4 adjusted earnings of $1.61 per share that beat expectations. F5 Networks, Inc. (FFIV) reported Q1 results with adjusted earnings of $1.98 per share that topped expectations and is down over 4%.

Ford Motor Company (F) reported Q4 results this morning with a loss and is down nearly 0.5% in pre-market. Unilever Plc (UL) announced Q4 results with lagging sales and is down nearly 5%. Biogen Inc. (BIIB) is up nearly 2% after topping Q4 estimates with adjusted earnings of $5.04 per share. Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) reported Q4 results with a loss and is down nearly 1%. Dow Chemical Co. (DOW) is up over 0.5% after reporting Q4 results with adjusted earnings of 99 cents per share that topped forecasts. Quest Diagnostics Incorporated (DGX) is up slightly after topping Q4 forecasts with adjusted earnings of $1.31 per share. Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (POT) is down over 4.5% after missing Q4 profit forecasts with a profit of 7 cents per share. Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV) announced Q4 results with adjusted earnings of 74 cents per share and is up nearly 4.5%. Comcast Corporation (CMCSA) is down over 1% after reporting Q4 results that topped forecasts. JetBlue Airways Corporation (JBLU) reported Q4 results with profit of 50 cents per share that beat expectations and is down slightly. Raytheon Company (RTN) announced Q4 results with adjusted earnings of $1.88 per share and is down nearly 4.5%. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL) is up over 5.5% after beating forecasts for Q4 with adjusted earnings of $1.23 per share.

This afternoon after the bell, look out for earnings from Intel Corporation (INTC), VMware, Inc. (VMW), E*TRADE Financial Corporation (ETFC), Alphabet Inc. (GOOG), Microsoft Corporation (MSFT), Starbucks Corporation (SBUX), Swift Transportation Company (SWFT), PayPal Holdings, Inc. (PYPL) and Juniper Networks (JNPR).

Tomorrow morning before the open, American Airlines Group (AAL), Honeywell International, Inc. (HON), General Dynamics Corporation (GD) and Chevron Corporation (CVX) are expected to report.

AAPL floated up to 122 yesterday, ending up 1.59% on average volume. AAPL opened up at 120.42 to high volume and immediately set an intra-day low of 120.28 before rising up above 121 within 12 minutes and then continuing on to the mid-121 zone within an hour on moderate volume. AAPL dipped back towards low-121 area ahead of lunch and then continued rising in the afternoon, peaking at 122.10 at 3:14pm on low volume and dipped slightly back to the upper-121 area just ahead of the curtain close on mild volume. AAPL ended the day up $1.91 at 121.88 and dropped 3 cents in after-hours to 121.85.

This morning in pre-market, AAPL opened higher in conjunction with Futures and hovered around 122, setting a pre-market high of 122.18 at 4:31am before slipping below 122 later in the morning. AAPL is currently down 18 cents at 121.67 as we approach the open.
